Ugly holiday sweater gathering seeks to attempt a Guinness World Record

Ugly holiday sweater enthusiasts, rejoice! On Saturday, December 9 make history by participating in the Guinness World Records Attempt: Ugly Sweaters & Silent Disco gathering at Beacon Park at Cass and Grand River.
Hosted by UglyChristmasSweater.com, the gathering will attempt to break the previous record of 3,473 ugly holiday sweater-wearers. According to the Facebook event page, participants wearing ugly holiday sweaters will be asked to convene for the official count, and afterward will don headphones for the dance party until midnight in the 10,000 sq. ft. heated Winter Lodge tent.
Don’t have the approved attire? Not to worry! UglyChristmasSweater.com will be selling an assortment of ugly holiday sweaters to those interested.
Festive holiday lighting, outdoor fire pits, interactive light installations, and music will also be available for your enjoyment. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
